What we do
Founded in 2016 by Tracy O’Shaughnessy, Bowen Street Press (BSP) is a student-led publishing house embedded in RMIT’s Master of Writing and Publishing. The BSP is an industry-standard internship run by professional editors and publishers. It is designed to build knowledge and skills for careers in book publishing (trade, educational and academic) and adjacent media and communications industries.
BSP is committed to projects across print and digital platforms that combine compelling content, intuitive and meticulous editorial, and beautiful design. We publish a diverse range of print work, spanning art books, zines, anthologies, magazines and more. Our digital publishing includes podcasts, blogs and our ongoing series: industry research platform Bound, food magazine Forkful and the creative writing collaboration BSP Review.
Collaboration drives everything we do. We work hand-in-hand with emerging authors and creators as well as a range of partners, from cultural and government organisations to community not-for-profit enterprises and local and international publishers. Our collaborative approach extends to students and academics across RMIT’s colleges, schools, programs and disciplines.
BSP is committed to fresh voices, bold ideas and excellence in publishing.
