The Capitol
The Capitol
The Capitol pays hommage to RMIT University's remarkable Capitol Theatre. Designed by renowned architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin in the Chicago-esque style, the Capitol has known many owners and eras since its unveiling in 1924. In 2019, after an extensive heritage refurbishment, the Capitol reopened its doors to the public. This book honours the iconic landmark and cultural hub that has stood proudly on Swanston Street for almost a century.
