Remember the first time you went to a movie theatre, the moment when the curtains parted and the lights dimmed and nothing else mattered. Remember when everything started to matter too much, when the world began to feel violent and cruel and it was all you could do to wrestle back some agency over your own destiny.

The old world might have died at that moment of lost innocence: when you learned about our bloody history, or the conditional demands of a flawed society.

The Old World is about loss and intimacy, trauma and rage, worlds real and imagined, relationships built upon love and upon hate, as interpreted by a collection of creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry and artwork.
